Dark Godiva

We’re all full of it
good thoughts
bad thoughts
selfish thoughts.
A head full of
curdled thought soup

I only let out
the white ones
altered to appear pure,
worn like a crown
to convince the world
I am the good witch

Keeping you
at a distance
so you won’t see
a dark godiva
covered with
white vermin.

A final OnesShootSunday poem. http://onestoppoetry.com/
Thanks for the memories.

  1. What vermin? lol Marvelously written. Great flow and rhyme throughout a very creative chain of thought. The first line is perfect, very telling and hooks the reader. Cheers, Beverly

  2. 'a head full of curdled thought soup' ~ lol what a great line! But the message is loud & clear..I think we all put on a 'mask' to enter the outside world...afraid to show our 'bad' side...great write.

  4. Are you a good witch or a sandwich?

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I really like how you've portrayed the mice as thoughts, released judiciously, and covering a dark Godiva (how cool an image is that?!).
